Welcome, folks, to my little corner of the interweb! I can’t really define exactly what type of thing you can expect to find on my blog because I will write about anything that strikes me as important, interesting, confusing, neat, profound, frustrating, humorous, honest… (the list goes on). I will warn you that I have a tendency (both here and in real life*) to rant and go off on tangents, but I will try my best to keep things relevant to each post’s intention.
*Here’s a tangent right now: I said “both here and in real life,” but now that I think about it, how much more real does it get? I mean, granted, there’s no actual face-to-face contact here, but I am definitely the most honest (with myself and others) when I write. So, maybe in a way this is more real than “real life.” Well, just something to ponder…
For a little information about me: I am a college student–currently pursuing English and Theatre majors, with a German Studies minor. I grew up in rural North Dakota, which means I went to a small school (graduated with a class of 43) and lived on a farm (livestock, not crops). I have a very blessed family situation, with six siblings (an older sister, two older brothers, and three younger sisters) and two very loving, devoted parents. I also have grown up in the Lutheran church (LCMS) and now firmly hold those beliefs and ideals out of my own conviction, not simply because my parents “forced” me into it. I have a personality that many find difficult to understand, though some words to describe me are: sarcastic, dry-humored, intelligent, cynical, dramatic, creative, logical, quirky, perfectionist, outspoken, proud, appeaser, strange, procrastinator, curious, writer, poet, average (not to be confused with “normal”), coffee-lover, etc. I also have an overwhelming fear of moths. Seriously, those things are freaky.
Perhaps I’ll add more description of myself and my background later…
Anyway, if you’re curious as to my intentions behind creating this blog, take a look at my Customary Explanation post. I will write at my own convenience for now, maybe not posting very frequently, until I get into a good rhythm for this.
